Been using OpenOffice for years, have heard LibreOffice is worth checking out but just haven’t done it yet.

Fun fact, Libreoffice IS OpenOffice, really, as Libre is just a fork of OpenOffice after a large port of the group split from OpenOffice after Apache bought them out (if memory serves) and started Libre to keep it completely free.

Office apps are free in the App Store too. I’ve been using Excel, Word, etc on my iPad for a while now.

Funnily coincidence I just downloaded this today, got a new laptop and didn’t want to be bothered porting over my old office license.
I’ve used OpenOffice in the past so I’m keen to see how user friendly libre is.
Only snag so far is on the first boot up the word processor was lagging several seconds between keystroke and the letter appearing on screen, had some pretty heavy 3D CAD software running too though so hopefully it’s just that.

Yes! Come to the dark side!
Print to PDF for when you inevitably need to ensure formatted doesn’t get fucked up.
